Crochet Pretty Summer Dress for Pretty Little Girls

With summer almost here and bunch of mercerized cotton in candy colors laying around in my closet , I thought why not make a cute little jewel of a dress for my little princess.

For any of the moms out there and even more for every handmade passionate striving to make a buck out of crocheting beautiful things, the child clothing are the easiest things to make.

Indeed ...they need less fabric, you don't have the chance to get bored making them and they are usually cheaper and easier to sell than a grown-up clothing item.

The practical things aside... a pretty dress in contrasting colors can be the ideal item for a baby girl or a cute toddler to wear at the church or during any possible outing on a warm summer day.

So about this baby dress crochet pattern...

  • the bodice is a basic raglan style square
  • the skirt is made of basic dc , shell style , clusters, increasing occurs naturally, if you want a tighter model simply start with 2dc , ch 1 on the first skirt row and increase the number of  dc as you go down.

Crochet Charts for Calypso Tunic - Something to Mend a Bad Day

Hello my dear friends…in a gloomy , sad and painful day….
Since blogging makes me feel better and so does looking up amazing patterns in a Sunday  like this, I felt the need to share with you a beautiful model ideal for the upcoming summer.
I had a horrific day …actually a couple of days and it seems pain lingers in the heart regardless the efforts you make to chase it away. I am sorry for being down not my usually upbeat and cheerful self but with my sis sick and a huge something missing in my family I feel that only beautiful things can help me feel better.
So here goes….
For those of you looking for an amazing tunic that will match the beach wear but also add a cosmopolitan touch to a summery outfit I think I just found the perfect design you can make out of double mercerized cotton.
This particular type of yarn is not exactly easy to handle for those lacking patience and in case you consider this pattern will prove to be a handful let me put your worries to rest .

The combination of patterns , the way they are displayed make this tunic something equally sexy and easy to pull through like my beloved one-teaspoon  tunic. However…in this case the combination of lovely squares , sexy chain structures and A-line design are all meant to mirror this tunic’s lovely name : Calypso.

Isn't it amazing?

You can easily see the order the charts come into  in the picture below. There are no special spokes, nothing complicated about the display. You just have to measure yourself right and follow the visual instructions.

Credits go to styleknitting.ru ( obviously :)
I hope you have an amazing week and  only beautiful thing come your way.

Please feel free to bookmark the post on Google + and share it further because this design is surely worthy of being seen and made by the mazing crochet artists out there : all of YOU.

Also please like my page on Facebook and stick around for more fantastic shares.

Free Crochet Charts and Instructions for 2 Pretty Summer Boleros

I don't know about you, but I so dream of summer.

Warm days , filled with sun, lovely chances to see my little one play outside ….endless opportunities to wear something lighter, cute and able to fit with every tank top I have in my wardrobe ( and believe me I have quite a few).

This made me look for a pattern to use some mercerized cotton I have lying around and I stumbled, in a Chinese magazine, upon 2 cute models unbelievably easy to make.

A year ago , when I first started to be interested in crocheted items, these models would have been perfect for my first handmade grown-up items , however…it’s never too late to try making something easy, elegant and very pretty to wear this summer.

Song In Blue :)

I find this particular model ideal for elegant wear. Perfect for a night out by the beach, an evening spend on a restaurant terace with your friends or simply a walk along a river , this is the bolero you need to combine with a very feminine maxi dress.

The bodice pattern is very easy to follow :
1. Start with a basic chain and make a chain as long as you need ( measure yourself)
2. Fan pattern : 3dc, ch2, 3 dc , sl in 3d chain...etc...
3. V pattern : 1dc , ch 2, 1 2c, chain 3 in the middle of every fan below.
4. Mercerized cotton , 2mm hook.

White Summer Dream

The bodice is a structure of  lacy chain flowers which make this pattern extremely feminine and elegant. Perfect for anything easy to match with any kind of summer top or summer dress and ideal for any ocassion. (personally I would make it in purple)

Sleeve:
1 dc, ch 2,2dc, ch1,2dc,ch2...and so on...

If you have any question regarding the patterns I am here. feel free to ask :) here on on my Facebook page.
I will be more than happy to help.
